There has been a lot of talk and focus lately, including a front-page article in our local newspaper, on the importance of training and certification among technicians that perform laser treatments and other cosmetic procedures – I couldn’t agree more! There have been too many instances of poor results, patient burns, and even worse as a result of unskilled and unsupervised employees administering these treatments. We have had many patients come in to see if we can “fix” what has been done to them at another facility.

We often focus on the latest and greatest lasers, procedures and treatments available to you – we love adopting treatments that are on the forefront and will provide our patients the best results possible. Equally, if not more important, though is our skilled, trained and certified team of aestheticians that spend countless hours training, studying and attending classes in order to provide best-in-class service and results to our patients.

Dr. Shannon Maltais
NMD Owner and Full-time, On-site Medical Director

I have always had a love of learning and knowledge and have continued to pursue this in my professional life and encourage this in my team. We attend as many classes, training sessions, seminars and conferences as possible. This dedication enables us to explore the latest trends and advances in anti-aging and continue to refine and develop our expertise in our field.

I have been a clinical trainer in the past, and am considered to be an advanced injector of Botox and dermal fillers, holding Black Diamond status with Allergan Pharmaceuticals.

Anjulie Balderston CMLT and Medical Aesthetician

Anjulie is a licensed Medical Aesthetician and Certified Medical Laser Technician (CMLT). She takes great pride in the continuing education and training that she takes to ensure she provides the best results to our patients. She entered the field almost a decade ago and has been with Physician Skin Solutions since the very beginning! Anjulie has also completed training and is certified in CoolSculpting, Ultherapy, VelaShape III, and all Syneron equipment and lasers that are used for photofacials, sublative rejuvenation and other laser treatments.

SusanTompsett
CMLT and Medical Aesthetician

SusanTompsett, CMLT and Medical Aesthetician Susan is also a licensed Medical Aesthetician and Certified Medical Laser Technician (CMLT) – she entered the field of aesthetics over 6 years ago, after graduating from the Skin and Make-up Institute as well as the National Laser Institute. She continues to grow her knowledge and expertise in the field through continual training on all the treatments and lasers administered at Physician Skin. Susan has completed training and is certified in CoolSculpting, Ultherapy, VelaShape III, and all Syneron equipment and lasers that are used for photofacials, sublative rejuvenation and other laser treatments.

As the owner and Medical Director of Physician Skin Solutions, I take pride in the fact that I am on-site full-time, go through rigorous training and continuing education myself and provide the opportunity for my team to do the same. Our office is also registered with and in compliance with all Arizona Radiation Regulatory Agency (ARRA) guidelines and regulations.
